Straydog.org - MP3 (18 min 17 sec) Juana and Bill talk about what happened today at Straydog
Lacie checks out Annie, she has a big knot where her spine ends and her tail begins. Dr. Shirey thought it was just the beginning of an infection and told us that we caught it very early. She has been on antibotics but has not healed so the doctor wanted to see her again.
It’s been three weeks since Natalie partially tore her ACL. Dr. Shirey said to keep her indoors, walk her on a leash and give her pain medicine. The very first week she stopped limping has been doing well. Lacie walked her outside in the parking lot where the doctor saw that she wasn’t limping and said that we could put her back outside.
One of Gina's pads was cut from the window glass she went through and her other pads looked damaged. She was so nervous and whiny she had to be anesthetize so the doctor could work with her paws.
It’s been a week since we took Betty to have the staples removed after her surgery. They couldn’t remove them last week because she still hadn’t healed. The doctor wanted to wait for a week to ten days and keep her on antibiotics and give her a chance to heal. She looked good today and they were able to take the staples out.
We’ve noticed that Charlie has been vomiting more often. He vomits because of his condition. We think that the Muscular Dystrophy is finally catching up with him but Charlie is a fighter and is not ready to give up yet. He patiently is waiting for the doctor to come see him.
It’s been a week since Dr. Shirey increased Portia's Furosemide, which is Lasix for her heart failure. It seems to be helping. She’s still active but we can’t let her run too much.
