The Straydog Special Events Team
Tom & Linda Arnold and David & Linda Rentz
The start of the 2016 DFW Boat Expo started Thursday with a pretty good crowd showing up. Our beautiful girl Daylight was the lucky dog on the roster and she had a great time greeting the people that stopped by our booth to visit. There was this one young boy who had a little blow up ball with him and he and Daylight played and played. No one could believe that she has not been adopted yet and we totally agree.
Friday turned out to be quite the busy day. Our roster consisted of Marshall and Chester. Five month old Marshall loved his first big event. He really put on a show chasing around an empty coke bottle. And five year old Chester, who has already been to quite a few of these events, would roll over for a belly rub every chance he got. An application was taken home for Marshall which made this day terrific.
Saturday did not disappoint us. We received applications on Mickey and both puppies Faith and Violet. And it was busy, we had visitors all day long. I want to thank volunteers Sally, Pam and Todd for helping out today. You all make doing these events so much easier and we really appreciate it. Tom and Linda’s daughter Ashley, son-in-law Brendon and grandchild Harvey came by to visit and little Harvey had a blast with the puppies. The puppies and handsome Mickey made everyone’s day at the boat show a blast.
Sunday came in a bit slower than the rest of the days but we still had a great time. The people who took an application home for Marshall decided not to adopt him but another couple who met Marshall came back and filled out an application for him. They drove all the way back from Lake Texoma and they said it was not to look at boats. Marshall just might have a home. Puppy PoPo and Bernie were on the roster today and both dogs had such a good time. Bernie and David Bonski are buddies and enjoyed seeing each other again. And PoPo is so, how do I say this, a extergetic puppy ready for fun. Todd came back again today and brought some dog food for us which we really do appreciate him for doing this. The show was a success, having received possible homes for a few of our dogs. We met lots of great people and enjoyed seeing the ones we knew from preivious shows. Thanks again to all our volunteers for all your help.
Linda and PoPo play with a tug rope.
Thanks again to all that helped us and to all that stopped by to visit our booth and
wish us luck on finding homes for the lucky dogs that received applications.
See you again at the next show.
