The 2016 Auto Show started Wednesday, it was spring break and families were out finishing up what was left of their vacations. Every year there are the regulars that come to the opening day of the show and stop by our booth to say hi. It was a fairly busy day and went by quickly.
Thursday we took our little boy Fletcher. He sure does like getting out and going somewhere. We have always thought he looks like Toto in the Wizard of Oz, which he does. This one man told us that he also looks like the dog piece in the Monopoly game and sure enough he does. It was fairly busy today too.
Friday, Gina and Chester attended the show. What a couple of great looking dogs they are. Chester would roll over for a belly rub every opportunity he had. Gina had a few inquiries on adoption which we will keep our fingers crossed for her. David Bonski was there helping us out as the busy weekend was underway and Todd Carr stopped by giving his support.
Saturday was such a busy, busy day. The crowds came and never stopped, Tonto and Daylight were there to greet them all. The first hour Tonto received an application and later in the day Daylight had an application taken home to be filled out. Many folks stopped by our booth to see our dogs and learn about what Straydog is. There were also a few of our supporters that stopped to visit and say hi. Sally Hoover, Todd Carr and Dee Ann Drechsel helped out today. This was Dee Ann’s first time to one of our events and boy did she start on a big one. She really did enjoy herself and is planning on helping out again.
Sunday was another busy day. Teddy and Wendy were the lucky ones who were with us today. Both dogs are so cute and they really did like getting out and getting all the attention. The crowds were showing up right up to closing time and we were glad David Bonski was there to help us again. One family that is considering adoption Wendy told us that they were going to go home and discuss it more.
It was a terrific weekend and we want to thank our volunteers for all their help and a very special thanks to the Auto Show committee for allowing us to be there.
