It rained all day Wednesday, the forecast called for big storms and some hail. The storms were coming from the west – through Dallas and towards us. We did get hail and it was very small. The hail was smaller than a dime. It was pea-sized and it hurt when it hit us. As soon as it hit the ground you couldn’t see it anymore. You could feel it but it melted very quickly. We were up against the rain and bad storms all day long. They were little-bitty storms and then they would form into big storms. Then they would disappear and it would start again an hour later. That happened all day long. The worst part was that it scared the dogs all day long. There was a lot of thunder. Terry was absolutely terrified. Bunny was too. Even Rosita and Big Boy get so very nervous and I have to bring them indoors. They wouldn’t even get in their shelter. They were running around looking for a place to hide.
JUANA: Rosita is with Big Boy. Purtis is running around, because he gets along with everybody. He’s gotten so mellow. He goes outside and inside.
Then they calmed down and then they came back again.
It was raining when Tyler went to get Charlie. Around 3:30 he got back and it was right in the middle of a storm. Wayne carried him in and I got a photo of him. We let him pee in the temporary kennel and walked him inside.
When the rain stopped in about five minutes, I took Charlie out. He seemed happy.
The storm cells were small and about five minutes across. The dirt at Straydog is just sand and you can’t even see the puddling and everything was flooding in the pouring rain. Then the puddling disappeared almost right away. Charlie followed me around and I checked to see if any kennels were flooded. Some of the kennels were flooded, but the dogs’ shelters were fine.
BILL: We’ll be back shortly with another report from Straydog.
