Great news, Panda has been adopted. She met her new family at the Neiman Marcus Adoption Day event we had last weekend. The home visit went well and now Panda has a new family with playmates to keep her company. Congratulations Panda!

Tuesday, August 28, 2018 Caregiver Destiny reports: Sweet handsome Trouper always meets me with a wagging tail and a smiling face when I come back from my day off. He (and all the other pup babies) makes coming to work so worthwhile. I absolutely love what I do. Caregiver Ronnie reports: Even though Straydog is a sanctuary for dogs, we're also a safe haven for numerous species of birds, including blue jays, mockingbirds, and roadrunners (which in recent years their population has seen a decline). Pictured is a baby woodpecker in the Beemer Park hard at work chiseling away at the bark of the tree, looking for breakfast. Our sanctuary is their sanctuary too and our dogs can be your dogs. Caregiver Chelsea reports: I unexpectedly took over walks mid day today, starting with Oreo & Panda. Oreo is such an all around fun dog. As per the norm, he demanded plenty of butt scratches (he makes what he wants VERY clear) and kept me laughing. He knows exactly how to make people smile. Wednesday, August 29, 2018 Caregiver Chelsea reports: Thunder had his puppy soul fully out on display today. This old man has some slower days, but today was definitely not one of them. He was extra playful, sweet, affectionate and ready for all the cookies. I always appreciate the time I get to spend with Thunder but days like today are a little more special. Caregiver Destiny reports:
Louis was enjoying his park time today, playing in the pool having a good ole’ time. It was pretty hot this morning and he definitely found his way to beat the heat. Sunday, August 26, 2018 Caregiver Chelsea reports: Jimmy was extraordinarily inquisitive today. He stayed on my heel every time I went into his kennel. At one point he got so close that he bumped his nose into my leg while sniffing me. It may not sound like much, but it blew me away. Monday, August 27, 2018 Caregiver Chelsea reports: Gwen is probably the most dramatic, in your face sort of dog that I've ever me and I absolutely love her for it. As usual, she had no concept of personal space today. She pretty much melted into me and insisted on belly rubs. I spent almost all of caregiving laughing at her antics. Caregiver Jamie reports: Poor Cadet has ringworm again. She won't stop barking. I think she is telling me about not getting to go to the park today. Caregiver Ronnie reports: Newly and Lil' Girl are two peas in a pod, a match made in Heaven. After the recent passing of Lil' Girls lifelong companion Pepper, Juana decided it was time to introduce her to a new park partner, someone to fill the void that was present. 12 year old Newly (a owner surrender) has spent numerous years at Straydog and most of his time was spent outside with no kennel mate until he was moved to Hospital 1. Now older, he's finally found the perfect companion in Lil' Girl. They share the park together making sure to give each other the appropriate space needed to make it fun and enjoyable for one another. When their times up they sit side by side, tails wagging, waiting to return to their comfortable and cozy beds. Caregiver Jamie reports: This is Trooper, he might look ferocious but he is a big cuddly bear and great snuggler. Caregiver Jorge Jr. reports: This little girl’s name is Jet. Jet is unfortunately blind in one eye, but that doesn’t stop her from having fun. She’s a sweet, caring dog that just loves attention. She never leaves your side. Caregiver Colton reports:
This is Ariel, she’s such a sweetheart. She gets so excited with people when they go into her kennel with her. When it comes to caregiving she thinks she’s a lap dog and she climbs in your lap if you let her. When feeding time comes around she seems like a vacuum, she wants it all. HaHa! Tuesday, August 21, 2018 Caregiver Jorge Jr. reports: This is Fritz. Fritz and his brother Fletcher, along with their mom, Jazzy, were left here a few years back by their owner. Fritz is a good boy that loves being scratched, groomed and cookies. Wednesday, August 22, 2018
Caregiver Jorge Jr. reports: This old girl is Jazzy. I like to call her Jazzy Spazzy because she is full of energy. She loves nothing more than to play fetch and she goes absolutely crazy for the tennis balls. She’s a great girl. |
