JUANA: It was a sad day. We lost another doggie. I think all of our followers and friends have known that Bear has been slowing down. This morning he had enough. We’ve been monitoring him very closely. He’s had some good days and some bad days and today was definitely not a good day. He couldn’t get up out of bed and he wasn’t interested in eating. If you know Bear, you’d know that he would take your fingers with a cookie. He never let us pick up his bowl until he was finished licking it, but he had finally had enough.
It was a rainy morning and, thank God, we didn’t get the terrible storm that was forecasted. It was supposed to be really, really bad and include a tornado watch. It didn’t rain that badly, but it would have passed over us right in the middle of our morning feeding. The storm was supposed to hit us at 6:00 in the morning. I asked some of our crew to come in early, so we could feed our dogs early. George, Stephanie and Ronnie came early and we fed the dogs. When the rest of our crew got here at 6:00 in the morning, our dogs were already fed. Then it started raining and we all had to wear raincoats and some of the kennels flooded.
