JUANA: This day started out so weird. First thing in the morning, we checked the radar and saw that a huge storm was coming our way. We didn’t think that there was any way that it would skip us. It actually rained at our home in Gun Barrel, but not at the shelter. Caragan and I were looking at the radar on our phones and, as it approached us, it split and went around us. That was so weird. It didn’t hit Straydog. We were lucky, because the dogs didn’t have to weather that storm.
BILL: This first photo of the day looks like these dogs are flying. Oh no, Banjo and Tobi have their back feet on the ground. Tobi has his feet in the air. Are they together now?
I wanted to move Winston away from Storm and Thunder. They had been living together. As you know, Storm has cancer of the throat and it is inoperable and sweet Thunder is so submissive. He will submit to anybody. Winston must have realized that Stormy is going downhill and he started picking on her. She doesn’t deserve that. Thunder and Storm were hiding under their shelter, when Winston was running around. Winston wasn’t that bad, he just snapped at her, as if to tell her, “Down.” I had to switch some dogs around, so I could fit dogs here and there.
JUANA: I think that was the problem. Polly followed Winston all over the park and they had fun together. Then we took them to Polly and Friendly’s kennel. They were as happy as they could be. Thankfully, we found spots for Winston and Banjo.
