Caregiver Destiny reports:
Our sweet girl Dez is doing amazing after she tore her ACL and had surgery. She doesn’t act like she’s in pain or that it bothers her at all. She’s just her normal happy go lucky self. She’s going to be just fine!

Caregiver Ronnie reports:
'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through Straydog
Not a creature was stirring except  Rosita chewing on her squeaking frog.

The stockings were hung in H1 with care
In hopes that Santa Paws would soon be there.

The dogs were nestled all snug in their beds
While visions of treats danced in their heads.

When out in Park One there arose such a clatter
The dogs sprang from their beds to see what was the matter.

Away to the door they flew like a flash
Santa paws...Could it be you at last??

The moon was omitting a majestic shine that illuminated the Pat Arnold sign.

When what to their wondering eyes did appear
But a miniature sleigh and eight tiny rein-deer.

With a little old driver with a furry face and slobbery jaws
I knew in a moment he must be Santa Paws.

More rapid than beagles his coursers they came
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name.

"Now, Dasher!  Now, Dancer!  Now Prancer and Vixen!
On, Comet!  On, Cupid!  On, Donner and Blitzen!

To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!

So up to the housetop the coursers they flew
With the sleigh full of dog toys, and Santa Paws too.

And then, in a twinkling, they heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.

As they drew in their heads, and was turning around
Down the chimney Santa Paws came with a bound.

At that moment they wonder if this may be the day
a forever home is promised and they are taken away.

He was dressed all in red, from his head to his paws
And his fur was smoothed and fluffy, soft as velvet to all.

A bundle of toys and treats he had flung on his back
And he looked like a peddler  just opening his pack.

His eyes how they twinkled! his jaws, how merry!
His cheeks were so hairy, his nose like a cherry!

A wink of his eye and a twist of his head
Soon gave them to know they had nothing to dread.

He spoke a few words, and then went to work
And filled all the stockings, then turned with a jerk.

And saying to the dogs, "No home today"
But I promise I'm working on Forever Homes for all Strays.

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.

But I heard him exclaim, as he drove out of sight
"Merry Christmas to all my Furbabies and to all my Furbabies goodnight.”

Give and you shall receive is most definitely true, but giving is much more than receiving. Christmas is a time to give and receive, this holiday season give the gift that gives back, a rescue. Help Santa Paws keep his promise.

Caregiver Chelsea reports:
Mr. Lee Boy was so outgoing and playful in the park today. Usually he's the one ready to go back to his kennel only moments after going to the park, but not today. After a full on play session he was ready to spend a little time being a lap dog getting all the snuggles and butt scratches. I absolutely love this little character.

Caregiver Chelsea reports:
Lately Nella has been one determined little lady, she's going to figure out exactly how to get what she wants no matter what it takes. It seems to be that it's usually extra attention that she's after. According to her, the best way to get that is to escape her kennel. Unlike other dogs, when she escapes she doesn't look for ways to get into trouble, she just tries to find someone to share her love with. For a girl that came to us in such bad shape, she sure does have a lot of love to give. I think that with a little bit of patience this sweet, happy girl would make the best family dog.
