JUANA: You didn’t get pictures of David going to the Adoption Day.
BILL: I was mowing outside the fence.
JUANA: We didn’t get pictures of David going to Adoption Day. He took Cadet, C-Stat, Genie and Chester. He took four dogs and they didn’t have any luck. They all came back to Straydog.
I decided to put Genie with Jet. Genie didn’t want to stay there. She wouldn’t eat. One day, when David Ford was trying to feed her, Genie ran back to the kennel she shared with Willow and Noel. Then Jet was by herself again and I didn’t know what to do. Jet is a Lab and you could put all of the Labs here together and they would never fight.
Late in the afternoon, when David got back from our adoption event, we decided to mix and match dogs before we left. We didn’t want to leave Jet alone for another night. Jet wasn’t happy. She wasn’t used to being by herself. We were taking care of Mackenzie for one of our crewmembers, who was on vacation. Mackenzie was sharing a kennel with puppies C-Stat and Cadet. We brought Jet and Mackenzie to the park, to see if Mackenzie would get along with Jet. There weren’t any problems at all, so we brought Mackenzie to stay with Jet. Jet was so happy to have friends again. We knew that Jet would get along with the puppies, because she plays with them through the fence. We put all for of them together and they were all so happy. Jet, Mackenzie, C-Stat and Cadet were all together in the family kennel, which is the kennel that Jet had been sharing with Vinnie and Darrell.
JUANA: Then we brought Miranda and Patrick into the front kennel, where I had Mackenzie and the two pups. I had moved Portia and Luis, because I thought they might have had ringworm. We had moved Miranda and Patrick indoors and they weren’t happy inside. They were used to being outdoors and they wouldn’t eat. As soon as we brought them outside, they were happy and wagging their tails and the feeding problems disappeared. We decided to put them back outside and we put them in the kennel that Mackenzie had been sharing with pups C-Stat and Cadet.
The dogs that used to be in that kennel were right next-door and they were watching their old kennels. The puppies were so happy. They jumped right in the pool. They love the pool. It was a good move and it was a last minute move, before we left for the day.
