BILL ANNOUNCES: Straydog Radio Show covering the events of Saturday, October 29, 2016. This is Bill and Juana here with the Saturday report.

JUANA: We dipped the second half of our dogs on Saturday.

BILL: We dipped the first half for fleas on Friday and the other half on Saturday.

JUANA: We didn’t skip Adoption Day on Saturday. We didn’t take a lot of pictures on Friday or Saturday, because we were so busy. But I did take a few pictures, so we could talk about them

My nephew Juan Manuel is living with us right now and I bring him to Straydog with me on Saturdays. He is learning a lot. He wants to be a veterinarian and he is a very good student. I hope that happens. Then we would have a vet in the family. That would be great for Straydog.

We had all of this going on and we attended Adoption Day. David was here at Straydog that day. We didn’t get very good pictures. This is old camera doesn’t work very well. The lense is all scratched up. David took our other camera to Dallas for repairs.

Ralph was going to Adoption Day. He was really happ
y.

Miss B is always very happy to go to Adoption Day. She’s such a precious little girl.

Qwen got the chance to go to Adoption Day this time.
Picture
Qwen and Rafael are Phara’s pups and they are big dogs now. We haven’t been able to adopt these guys out yet. I guess it’s because they’re big, black dogs. Unfortunately, we just have too many dogs. At our shelter, they are very rambunctious and active. When they go to Adoption Day, they are very quiet and laid back. They just want love and attention. Sometimes, we’re afraid to take a dog to Adoption Day, because we are afraid that they’ll be rambunctious But sometimes, when dogs are away from the commotion at the shelter, they are completely different. We misread a dog sometimes. Qwen and Rafael have gone to Adoption Days several times. They are very, very well behaved at Adoption Days. You just never know.
This is a beautiful picture here of Miss B.

BILL:
Are Rafael and Ralph the same dog?

JUANA: No. Rafael is Qwen’s brother and he’s one of Phara’s pup. Ralph is a Pit Bull/Dalmatian mix. They are two different dogs.

David went to Adoption Day. He had a good day and he already did a report.

We used the back gate to take Qwen out and then I went back to visit with Diesel and Marie.

Picture
They are doing very well together. Diesel reverted back into his shell after his kennelmate Speck was adopted. He didn’t trust us. He’s not as skittish as he was before. It took some time, but he is starting to come to us again. He is doing better now. He comes to the fence and he lets us pet his nose. He will come and get a treat. He is back to his old normal. We still can’t put him on a leash and he’s never been to the park. He just sits and looks at it. Like Fred, he wants to go, but he won’t let himself go. He’s afraid.
This is Leonardo on the left, another one of Phara’s pups. He lives with Reyna.
Picture
This is Splinter, who is another one of Phara’s pups. He’s such a beautiful dog. We will be taking him to Adoption Day next Saturday.
Picture
This is Oreo in the park barking and having so much fun.
Picture
There’s Panda running in the park.
Picture
This is Wolfie playing with his toy in the park. Shelby was picking up poopers.

Wolfie’s kennelmate Jennie was also enjoying the park that morning.

This picture is of Donatello and MJ. They are also Phara’s pups. We still have nine of Phara’s pups. They are in different kennels with either a sibling or an unrelated dog.

We dipped the second half of our dogs in the Shirley Olsen Beemer Park. There’s Mario coming with Judy.
Picture
We were using a swimming pool to dip the dogs for fleas. While we were dipping one dog, his kennelmate was running around and enjoying the park.

Here's Judy running to the camera and smiling. They are both such good dogs and they are getting old. You can see that Judy’s face is all white.

We didn’t have any adoptions, but it was a good Saturday.

Bill: We’ll be back soon with another report from Straydog.
