BILL ANNOUNCES: Straydog Radio Show covering the events of Tuesday, September 20, 2016. Happy Birthday to my brother Tom, who is 70 years old today.

JUANA: Happy Birthday, Tom! It was a good day and there was such a beautiful sunrise this morning! This is a beautiful, beautiful picture.

We are still rebuilding and fixing the dogs’ shelters. This time we were fixing Nelson and Ebony’s shelter. It’s been a long time, since it was fixed. It was Scottie’s shelter a long time ago. It was so badly rotted that Tyler couldn’t save any of it. It was just falling apart and it was in bad shape. He had to start over. You can see the big hole in the floor.

We had a full crew and everybody worked very hard. Maci and Wayne were the kennel workers, Jacob was the walker in Pat Arnold Park and Ronnie was the walker in the Shirley Olsen Beemer Park. We were shorthanded and we had a new employee that Wayne was training. She didn’t even last a week. She couldn’t handle it. I tell everyone that it is a hard job and it’s not for everyone. The weather wasn’t even that bad. It had cooled down some. She hadn’t worked in ten years and she just wasn’t able to do this job. It’s not for everyone and we understand.

Lady and Jackson are senior dogs and I can’t believe it. It seems like only yesterday that they were puppies and running around. We rescued them in 2004 or 2005. Jackson was adopted once and Lady-bug was never adopted. They’ve both torn their ACLs and they’ve both had TPLO operations on both legs. They are now retired, senior dogs and live in H2. They walk slowly. They have their good days and their bad days and they are okay, except for the pain of arthritis.

That was it for today.
