JUANA: I want to start off by telling you about the adoption of Millie. We don’t have a lot of pictures from Millie’s home visit but it was such a huge success. We’ve already reported on Saturday, August 13th’s Adoption Day. Angel, Bernie, Alli and Millie went that day. Then we got an application on Sunday for Millie. Erin, David and I reviewed it and we liked it. It was a very good application and we set up a home visit for Tuesday, August 16th. David and Erin did this home visit in Mesquite and it went very well. The family has another yellow Lab, like Millie. They are about the same age and they look like twins. David got a phone call from the family and they said that everything was going great. They are in love with Millie and she’s settled in very nicely. Congratulations to Millie and her new family! That was on Tuesday.
Wednesday was a very rainy day and it had already been raining for a few days. I took a picture from the porch. We couldn’t work in the kennels, because the sand was too wet. We couldn’t rake. We just picked up poop and changed the water buckets. We only changed the swimming pools that were dirty, because we didn’t want to dump even more water in the kennels. It’s not that they would flood. The sand drains quickly and it wasn’t raining that hard. It wasn’t storming. It was just raining and that’s nice, because we really needed the rain. We were just tired of the rain, but we were doing well.
BILL: We’ll be back shortly with another report from Straydog.
